    Coming back to this few weeks later, I actually had some experiences where I think this will be useful.

    I normally wear my fitness smartwatch but on some days decide to wear my regular watches. So on those days I don’t get any automatic step tracking, and I don’t have Google Fit installed only for step tracking as I use my watch manufacturer app.

    If Health Connect will write steps automatically without me having to install Fit, then my watch can read back the steps from there and I don’t have to see zero steps on my watch’s tracking for that day 🥲
