Essentially every country settled primarily by Europeans or their descendants, except somehow Latin America, Russia and Belarus, and, debatable, a few other European countries :D And potentially including Israel
Using Windows is a true flex on Lemmy
For that, one should test all the software personally.
Of course if you use something with only the old reviews, leave a new one! But the fact is, utility of the service is often dampened due to this fact.
I was under the impression that people in primal tribes just die before this becomes a massive problem
Nothing to be ashamed of - the world is too complex to connect everything, and we all miss out on something very simple :)
Honestly? I played around with Linux for a long time inside of VM, but then I moved to a new house and got into “a new life” mood. And then I just couldn’t look back on Windows with anything but disgust.

Amazing OSM-based maps app, totally recommend.
And that’s wonderful!
But normies, sadly, do not
There is motivation to do better - inventors are praised and financially rewarded, and those who successfully apply new tech are too.
Sure, an inventor won’t turn billionaire, but he also won’t run a risk of losing it all trying to apply said invention. Market actually scares many off, it’s not simply a land of opportunities.

We’re going for a diplomatic victory, too.
For building vast structures, to me it’s mostly Space Engineers, but that’s another concept too, not exactly “build a gigafactory” type game. Still, building something big and cool it does.
I’m also sad MMOs are rarely first-person. Like, there was Tera, but it died immediately as I first heard of it, which is super unfortunate because it certainly seemed to tick my boxes.
I didn’t play The Talos Principle, but heard about the game. Spent quite a while in both Portal games though - good times.

Linus did have emotion control issues and was not always completely rational, but he’s gone a long way towards being incredibly responsible to his child that powers the world.
Also, he long understands that Linux ain’t a hobby project, which some programmers still get to think.
