Well hopefully xwayland won’t be needed much longer for wine.
And yeah the customization is very impressive. I worry though that a lot of users will create illegible color schemes and complain. Even though it is their own fault
How are you liking cosmic? I tried to run it in a vm but it kept wanting to crash on me :(
Play on linux is extremely old at this point and isn’t really updated.
I understand that it was a tool that worked well for you in the past and you could probably get it working with the right dependencies but if I am being honest. It’s not worth it.
Wine has improved drastically in the last few years and with that a lot of new apps have come around.
My personal favorite is bottles as it is very easy to use and works well for both games and applications.
Another option is lutris but it’s a lot more oriented towards games than applications.
I hope I was of some help and good luck
I pretty much am exclusively on linux just because I prefer the workflow of gnome.
Sure a few games don’t work but it’s usually a competitive game I have no interest in.
Being able to use my computer without ads or shitty updates is a godsend
I like https://flathub.org/apps/org.nickvision.tagger
Very simple to use app
You may wanna try putting a solid state drive in. It will boost performance so much
Just vanilla gnome. I’m pretty basic
I have had zero issues on my desktop. And on my laptop I have way better battery performance. Mind you both are using AMD graphics
Wahhhh wahhhhh. That’s you
A totally reasonable response to someone kindly posting a translation
Very excited to try it out once fedora ships it. Gnome may not add the most stuff every update but by god it is the smoothest desktop on linux
Nice. It has a really aggravating work around usually. Nice to see a company actually support linux
Little music player is about 20kb
I love firefox. Hate the managment
If you stick with it you can type way faster than most other keyboards. Plus it’s fun to use
What? Vanilla os. Is very different than just OS2. Also OS 2 is how old now? I doubt many people even make that coorelation
Gnome has the best touch gesture support. It really is great. Sadly the osk for gnome kinda sucks major league ass. Pretty much every de has issues with touch. But gnome seems to have the least issues
I wish other distro’s would implement this. It’s a very modern thing to do and really does make linux as a desktop feel more complete.
I’m fairly sure flatpaks are planned to have something like this and I am really looking forward to it
