I think Lemmy is struggling with this because politics is just so loud that we don’t have enough volume of other content being made.
I regularly suggest people to block those communities, or consider an alt to follow those
Moderation and mods being accountable.

Lack of people. With around 45k monthly active users, only a few dozen of those would create OC

I like that it’s decentralized, but the largest instances seem to have moderation policies that are very similar to reddit.
At least you can switch instances easily, so that’s already a major improvement.

There can definitely be a split in the future, but for now it seems strange to exclude 50% of the parents population
I would love to stop seeing posts in other languages pop up in my feed constantly - just some type of feature to help organize the languages of each instance a bit better.
Which language is it? You can kindly ask the mods to configure their communities to only allow their language, that should fix it
