Are you also me?
Are you also me?
We have neighbours a couple houses down that occasionally like to have people over in their loud echo-ey metal fence+patio back yard and chop their firepit wood every hour or so when they run out, sometimes well after midnight. I do not think they realise how far that sound carries through the night and dont have the foresight to chop during the afternoon beforehand.
Oh my.
A chamois is going to give a MUCH better finish, is silent and costs pocket change.
Thank you, this will save my monday morning restart after a weekend of off ‘hibernation’
How do you like my face to your foot style? ^Squeak ^^Squeak ^^^Squeak
Tank wars - MS DOS
Probably closely followed by Lemmings, Commander Keen & Duke Nukem.
Based, no cap.
For sure: fuck them, but this sounds more like a government corruption issue, laws should be in place to prevent businesses doing scummy monopolistic shit like this.
I assume you mean the fused plugs thing?
In Aus we dont have those but we do have mandated all lighting & GPO circuits to be on RCD/RCBOs so thats reassuring. (Unless you have an old house that is grandfathered in and no works have been done requiring the replacement or upgrade of your switchboard since the laws came in)
I saw some footage from footage from their recent shows and they look like they put on a fun show, and the years haven’t slowed them down

All i can think is ‘imagine if Bernie was 10yrs younger…’
Ironically in this case doing the job properly reduces costs significantly.
Everything in the chain from the outlets, ductwork, damper, valves, condensers, pipes, tray, fans, component ratings & switchboards can be reduced to a reasonable size.
Which then has peripheral benefits like reduced transport costs, crane lifts, space in service zones between floors/risers, materials & running costs of the completed building
For me its the Borderlands series & portal 2.
Well TIL, thanks. I always associated it with the kids who would listen to like deftones and dance like that
18°C, drizzle & thunderstorms.
But live in a city in Australia that has clear skies 70% of the year, and an average of about 24 annual days of rain.
Pretty much what it sounds like, where people who listen to a certain type/sound of music tend to enjoy it at live events by just low key looking down and slowly shuffling or bobbing their head to show their appreciation (rather than headbanging, moshing, etc.) there is a genre called ‘shoegaze’ which pretty much encompasses this kinda scene.
I would go as far to say that most ‘peoples brains’ dont remember new names well, unless there is a strong emotion tied to the meeting of a new person (hate, fear, infatuation, etc) then its easy to forget what someone said by the time you have made some introductory small talk and moved on to a conversation topic or had to break off the conversation and go elsewhere.
I find i either have to have somebody else say their name a lot for it to stick or i mentally break off from the conversation when i can get away with it and in mind find a way of remembering their name with a trick like associating it with a similar sounding word, or a famous actor with the same/similar name, etc.
The Factorio one reminded me of trying to get to sleep only to start building elaborate underpasses and routes in my mind for hidden redstone circuits in Minecraft.
Just to correct, the pagers were made by a taiwanese company, not chinese.
