This is true. My extended family leans conservative but is from the far north(think border of Canada north.) It’s honestly really weird how the more rural you get, the more republican people are.

However, my cousins and the younger members are far more left than the older members(are lgtbq friendly, support BLM, acknowledge climate change is real ect) some of them left the area and some stayed, but in general the difference in generations has given me some hope.

Ugh these motherfuckers get literally every grain of truth wrong. Trees do prevent flooding(studied to be an arborist and utilizing trees in urban environments for cooling and flood control), BUT the amount of trees cleared for wind turbines is negligible compared to what we’ve cut down for parking lots and industrial complexes(pavement increases flooding).

Besides, no amount of trees is going to take care of that amount of rainfall in that period of time. Even if everything was forest there’s only so much they can absorb. Some of them would uproot and tip over from the ground becoming so water logged. I’ve seen it happening in our forests from an unusually wet summer. Entire portions of forest where the trees just fell over from too much water in the soil after 3 years of drought.

As someone from the US i always saw it as people can’t afford to take time off to donate, so compensating them for their time makes it so they can afford to donate.

A few states make it illegal to be monetarily compensated for your blood or plasma, but others it’s completely fine.

Depending on location, it’s too freaking hot to be doing yard work anytime past 11 in the summer months. 9 - 11am is usually when I get my shit done.

Then again, with my neighbors have a similar work schedule to me, so I guess I’m not bothering anyone.

Tbh this is one is a little personally motivated.

I watched a very smart person I worked for get sucked into an MLM and it was disturbingly cult like the way it played out. One day literally everything about was this Lev-el Thrive vitamin shit. Which around $300 a month to take caffeine laced vitamins with willow bark. Which they were told was safe for everyone by the company… but willow bark is more or less asprin. People with heart issues shouldn’t be taking that shit.

I used to think only stupid people fell for mlms, but my previous boss successfully ran a business for around 15 years(the one I was employed at). I had to leave that job because my boss couldn’t pay me anymore. All their money went into this ‘side business’ that the company kept saying they’d make it back. They did not.

That whole experience was like a fever dream to me. It felt like my boss had been body snatched by some mlm greed demon, and ever since i just see mlms as culty life ruiners that should be illegal.

MlM’s. They’re predatory.

Actually a lot of organic farms rely on blood and bone meal, manure and fish emulsion fertilizers. They’re inexpensive as they’re byproducts of other industries and are very good for plants.
When I worked in an organic greenhouse I often wondered about how vegans would feel about farmers using animal based fertilizers. We definitely told people what we used, as we sold those products, but no one ever said anything about it. I guess vegans can’t control that so maybe it’s a nonissue unless they grow their own food and use seaweed based fertilizer(more expensive) instead?

Just don’t grow mushrooms or potatoes in billionaire compost. They have a tendency to uptake heavy metals from their nutrient source, and no one wants lead in their mushroom soup or mashed potatoes.

I had my last phone so long(about 5-6 years I think) that I was forced to get a new one because it was no longer supported.

I know they have to have a cut off somewhere, but around 5 years doesn’t seem like that long for a device. Maybe I’m just getting old, or planned obsolescence or something.

But yes, having that phone for a longtime prevented ewaste and saved me quite a bit of money. Be nice to your phone and it’ll go longer than the company supports it.

And the companies who sell the corn syrup foods are free to use all that money to influence politicians. Um… I mean…pay lobbyists, or become a super PAC or something that’s technically not corruption.
