On Desktop, as soon as the tab bars are getting smaller to make room for more tabs on the screen, I feel like I have too many open.
And here I thought it was something like Second Life, a virtual world where you can ‘own’ property.
Do not forget that you are also the very entity that hands out the currency you hold your debt in.
I know that it is a can of worms politically, but now the man the whole world owes the wake-up call that were his leaks to, is forced to live under Putin.
If Snowden ever did, he hardly did it out of his own volition.
It really is a shame how spineless european politicians are, to not give Edward Snowden protection in europe. I bet a whole bunch of politicians are happy that he faded out of the collective mind, so they don’t have defend their indefensible standpoint of not giving Snowden amnesty.
It also sucks that there is no recourse against politicians that are clearly biased in their decisionmaking.
I think that is the biggest issue with Mastodon and federation in general: Limited discoverability. I’ve spoken to a few artists that still post on Twitter. They won’t join Mastodon, because it is so hard to develop consistent reach.

As long as they are used defensively, weapons are needed. And having the latest and greatest weapons really helps. We can see this play out in Ukraine clear as day. If Ukraine had more weapons in the beginning, Russia hadn’t invaded. If they had anyways, Ukraine would’ve been able to rebuff them with more force. Whenever the West does send weapons to Ukraine, they have an immediate and devastating effect on Russian troops. But because we are sending so little, the war bogs down into a WW1-style slugfest. Also, the ammunition given by the West allows Ukraine to do targetted strikes mostly. Russiaon the other hand is just sending wave attacks, accepting massive civilian casulties.

I sympatize with folk that want to stay home, but I personally am functioning much better in an office environment with those talked-about chance encounters. I am interested to see where we will be in 10-20 years when it comes to working from home.
It’s not going to work. For every person that hears the calls to boycott and acts on it, ten others won’t. For every person that hears the calls to boycott, ten others won’t hear that call at all. The only viable way of cutting into CoD in my opinion is to give people an alternative to play.
And people still playing those games. Kotick wouldn’t be as successful if those that usually buy Activision titles would care enough about the games getting worse.
And that is why they usually only ‘free’ kids. They don’t know any better.
Twitch is stuck between a religious rock and a hard-as-wood place.
