Why the Chinese phone would work? In Europe they have Google play services and thus are also affected. Maybe it’s the Chinese version of those? Not sure if they have Google play services there

It drove me nuts 15-20 years ago when macs started getting popular in my country. Some people would literally buy a brand new premium Mac and the start saying how much better was mad vs PCs. Being PCs the 5 years old family computer that was bought when dial up internet was the hot new thing.

By far, the worse was the photographer who bought an iMac because “you can’t do photography without one” and didn’t even know it didn’t run windows.

The IV drip teamed up with a brick to hit a person, and a police who was also hospitalized put a camera to check on him.

Not easy. They tried but don’t have the authority. I think they managed for home long term rentals but not as aggressive as before.

The revenue from tourism is limited to the city. Most rentals are owned by large foreign companies, so profit goes away. Clearly not enough to pay for extra housing (one airbnb house taxes can’t pay for a full new house).

Also, they are pushing away people who lived there, as the neighborhoods are focusing on tourists more and more (again, foreign investment firms who don’t spend back in the city).

I used to live 25 min walking to Sagrada Familia. 8 years ago there were usually no tourists or stores focused on tourists. Now it’s a very common place for tourists to stay, and prices show it.

If it works and the user is happy, why not Judy go with it? Surely with a ton or research you can find why it works better on cachy and with much not time you can try to replicate on a different distro the myriad of things that can be, and then spend time making sure nothing breaks.

Or, hear me out, you can just play the game you wanted to play on the fist place.

I’m using Bazzite because it’s the first distro where gaming wise everything just works. Only had to fight with the printer/scanner. I wanted to use other OS, but seriously, I also want to play and use my time doing something other than solving problems I’ve created.

If catchy is a batteries included distro that people can use, even if their performance gains are questionable, let them. There’s no shame on that.

I have android 16, I don’t see that on the froid apps, not even the ones installed just a few days ago.

Is that a new branch of fdroid or is there a setting to enable?

Edit: actually, I use droidi-fy, so maybe it’s lacking that feature.

That’s a “Google play” feature AFAIK. Apps installed from fdroid, apk, aurora or epic have the same drawback.

It’s really annoying, it’s a very useful feature.
