I mean, it probably tasted better.

Fuck Elon Musk, but don’t discourage human curiosity and stupidity. There’s nothing humans love more than conquering an impossible task. Humanity would have never made it as far as we did without people doing stupid and crazy shit. Humanity is the kinda species that just says “fuck it, we ball” and then proceeds to just do exactly what they shouldn’t do. Shit like walking across ice sheets to new continents because why not and go to the fucking moon.
Someone will figure it out eventually. Might take a couple hundred years (if we don’t kill ourselves first) but we’ll get there.
It’s just the new trend. One person starts it and has a successful video, and then everyone else follows it regardless of whether or not that was the reason for success. But I’ll take it over constantly using jump cuts every 5 seconds. That shit has been obnoxious for years. Most of the things I watch on YouTube these days are educational stuff so I don’t see either of these things that often. The only time I’m okay with the multiple angles is if they use it as like a “tangent camera” for when you know they are going off script or just expressing their opinions on what they are talking about. You know, an actual reason for two cameras instead of just “oooo look at me.”
The YouTube trend that’s been pissing me off are the YouTubers that change the thumbnail and title an hour after it’s posted because it’s not getting enough views and then make a community post talking about how it’s the best video they ever made.
Never really thought about that but that makes a lot of sense.
That was one of My favorite things about Crunchyroll. I love going through the comments after finishing a series and seeing what others were thinking. I know anime fans can be pretty crazy, but I very rarely saw toxic comments. It was mostly people talking about a shared experience and was surprisingly wholesome the majority of the time. I even got some good recommendations about what to watch next because of it too
I get this all the time because I tend to binge games over weekends when I got nothing else going on. I’ll give two examples that I remember the most.
One of the most prolific is Factorio. Seeing conveyor belts everywhere I go. Whether I’m awake or about to fall asleep I just constantly see conveyor belts as I solve non existent problems with the efficiency of said conveyor belts.
The weirdest was after Outer Wilds. I binged it for about 12 hours straight one day. You spend a lot of time orbiting around planets and landing on them. After I was done I was walking around my apartment and felt like I was “orbiting” a spaceship around my apartment. It felt super weird to walk. Felt like the floor was the surface of a planet and my head was a spaceship flying miles above it trying to land.
This meme was created way before Assassin’s Creed added Yasuke to their game. Which sucks because this meme was pretty funny before people got racist.
This meme was a lot funnier before the whole Assassin’s Creed debacle. Although it is funny seeing people get mad about it while trying not to sound racist lol.
Honestly, I can’t even remember the last time I bought an EA game. What do they even make these days besides sports games?
I spent over $4,000 on my PC a few years ago. She isn’t top of the line, but she gets the job done. I shouldn’t have to brute force my way into newer games because the optimization is so bad that my fairly decent PC can’t even get the game up to 60fps when it could play God of War at 100fps+ 2 years ago. I’m not gonna spend thousands of dollars for a new graphics card every couple years just because your game runs like shit. That’s almost as much money as I spend on my car payments.
Not optimizing games is just lazy game development. Back in the 90’s and 2000’s you HAD to make your game run well on most systems or you wouldn’t be able to sell as much as you needed to. Nowadays computers and consoles can do so much that optimization is unfortunately an afterthought.
Say you could never find the bathroom.
See, you get it. :)
In that regard I definitely agree with you. It could even just be the people I associate with. If anything the people that have given me the most shit for it are other guys that I have as friends.

You’re doing great. :)
I know you probably already hate me for mentioning it, but foot fetishes. It’s a very common fetish people have and I don’t think people should be ashamed of it. It’s not even the weirdest fetish out there when it comes down to it. I understand the stigma comes from weird dudes asking girls for feet pics in creepy ways and I feel like that’s reasonable. But most of us are just regular people just trying to live our best life. I used to feel comfortable telling women I’m with that I have a foot fetish and most of them were even down to give it a try. Nowadays I’m too embarrassed or ashamed to even mention it and when I do I get shot down more often than before because of this stigma. I’m more comfortable these days telling someone that I’m bisexual than telling someone I like feet. Which I guess is a win for the gay part of me, but it still sucks.
Don’t mean to be a negative Nancy, but I’ll believe it when I see it.
I have nothing against the people that are working on AI and appreciate the work they do. However every time I see an article about a company using AI like this I just get the vibe that it’s a bunch of middle aged men trying desperately to make things like the “future” they saw when they were a kid. I’ve seen amazing implementations of AI in a lot of different ways but I’m so sick of dumb ideas like this because some guy that used to watch Star Trek as a kid wants to feel like they live in the future while piggybacking on someone else’s work. It’s like the painted tunnel in cartoons where it looks like a real tunnel but in reality it’s just a very convincing lie. And that’s all that it is. Complexity does not mean sophistication when it comes to AI and never has and to treat it as such is just a forceful way to make your ideas come true without putting in the real effort.
Sorry, I had to get that out. Also I have nothing against Star Trek and I used to watch it as a kid because my parents watched it all the time.
I’m out of the loop, what’s the recent Linux drama? If you don’t wanna type it out, you can point me in the right direction. :)
