They do it for efficiency, like ducklings after their mother. Have you ever seen a large boat from above? The wake spreads out behind it, in this v-shape. It’s like a wave following the boat, and the ducklings can “surf” on the v-shaped wave, after their mother, and they don’t have to paddle as hard.

Yeah, thats also a feature I miss. I mean, FUTO is good, but gboard is better in many ways. Having a billion dollar company probably helps, in that regard.

Yes, it has the undo/redo. And also dedicated ‘mark all’, ‘copy’, ‘cut’, ‘paste’ as well as shortcuts built into the letters (hold c for copy, v for paste, etc.). Arrow keys as well! Also some other features, and swipe typing.

Only downside is that the swiping is not as acurate as gboard, but it well worth it, in terms of privacy and choosing/supporting an independent alternative.
