Something like $100/week for two draws. But it was like 6 years ago in Kentucky
I donated blood for many years, starting the first day I was allowed (mom took me). I’ve been an organ donor from the day I was able and am loud about that. And for a few months after college I sold plasma for money. It definitely felt scummy, but I think it’s ultimately a good thing, though it is selling part of your body to a for profit company at a rate that’s pretty bad. So the cons are really that it definitely feels seedier than whole blood donation and that the phlebotomists are worse. I can’t donate blood anymore because they gave me a track mark and I can’t risk my other elbow’s veinous access.
But it got me through a rough time
Chinese communism seems very much to be born of a fusion of USSR and Chinese imperial styles. But one important thing to remember about communist revolutions between 1918 and the 1990s is that the USSR played a major role in a lot of them. This is where you see such things as the betrayal in Catalonia and massive splits in western leftism as Marxist-Leninists and Maoists had backing and anarchists didn’t.
It’s an authoritarian thing. A lot of the rebels against the USSR were communists (most notably the red navy’s rebellion at Kronstadt). It’s a shame that communism has become synonymous to much of the world with the authoritarianism of some of its’ factions.
Ok but Schmetterling doesn’t even sound worse. Just picture it in a not angry German accent
Because we’re a social species that often checks ourselves off of those around us. Sometimes it’s unhealthy, but often it’s an attempt to maintain tribe status and to safeguard against misperception.
Yeah part of the point of this is that it’s not a free speech zone unless you want a free speech instance. I prefer a more curated against bigots experience. Others don’t. Still others prefer other forms of curation. Federation means we can all talk to each other as long as we stay within boundaries of what others will stay federated with.
Me too. Like, I drive a shitty ice, but I’d consider a decent upgrade in vehicles, only for an Ev and only with somewhere to charge it. Like, that’s one of the major reasons my wife and I are thinking of switching to renting or buying a house at the end of our lease.
And people like us are necessary for adoption. We’re the “yeah but even they have one and like it” people
First aid specifically aimed at the sorts of injuries that one risks by protesting.
Not exactly but my wife’s background in protest medicine is one of the first things that drew me to her
King James. His persecution of women caused centuries of problems
I’m pretty sure drugs is how you got him
Ja
Actually I started before Lemmy but I’m bad at it still
I think 20% is pretty big. Not big enough, but anyone who thinks they’ve done all they need by buying an ev doesn’t understand the situation. So yeah necessary but not sufficient
Because half hour charge times
Give me a Honda fit but electric and make my landlord give me the ability to charge it. Some fancy tech would be nice, but I drive a used economy vehicle for a reason
I have friends who’d be jealous
