As with everything 3d printing, it’s a tradeoff.
It’s harder to prevent oozing, harder to change colors, worse quality(usually) and larger nozzles.
But you print much cheaper, often can print larger parts with larger nozzles (stronger).
What I do with printing, I’d seriously consider a retrofit pellet extruder on my smallish machine (e5+) If it were reasonably priced.
Almost everything I do is “structural” and doesn’t need to be pretty direct off the printer.
He just can’t take it back out without being burned.

They definitely can. The Chevy volt complies to the standard, but anything outside (ie to do with the battery diagnostics, or electric propulsion system) is behind a completely different protocol where most normal readers won’t read.

I store in home Depot containers with desiccant in the bottom. And have another modified to print from. (Printed spool holder with bearings, reverse Bowden through container side)
It really didn’t change my workflow, just where to get the spools to load, and where to load them.
Print quality improved greatly.
The only liquid we’ve discovered with no surface tension is helium. And only at or below specific temperatures depending on the type of helium.
Very unlikely water would ever get to that state.
