I never understand why people don’t want criminals reformed, just locked up.

Because “lock them up” is a simple answer that is quick, easy to understand and relativity easy to do.

Rehabilitation takes time, takes effort, and doesn’t have a “one size fits all” method.

I tried FreeBSD many years ago (back when I was on dialup and bought a book with the FreeBSD install CD included…).

At the time it was interesting to tinker with, and I did use it as a dual-boot on my Win95 computer, but I moved on to Linux when Knoppix came along.

Or put another way, Canadian citizens have a portion of their university fees subsidized by the various levels of government that those same citizens (and their familes) pay taxes to.

Foreign students (and their families) have not contributed to that tax base, therefore aren’t eligible to benefit from it and have to pay the full cost themselves.
