I don’t really care about any of these things and I’m also fine being any number of years behind the current tech trends.

no one wants to hear your bitchin
You’d think this is good news but National Post basically exists to serve the Conservative party so all this tells me is that a lot of Canadians are loving the idea of identity politics.
100% tax over 100 million or something?
Boy that article was a whole lot of nothing.
Foreign investment got us started down this path. A ton of people moved here when UK handed HK sovereignty to China in the 90s.
Investment is probably a bigger problem now but that was established by the initial foreign investment booms.
Our ceo is a woman and she values being around people, so being the boss means we all have to share her worldview.
I like building things and being alone and woodworking is my go to activity. It involves working with and learning about wood and tools to work with wood, project management for more complex projects, tons of spatial thinking, drawing, research, prototyping. I spend a large amount of time drawing.
None of these are as bad as they were before, but Windows OS still sucks. Apple isn’t selling bargain devices of any kind. They are more like decent investments (if you don’t include the butterfly era).
I’ve done the same and the reaction has been the same (though not deleted). I think it’s spammy.
I might create a new user account with ‘lemmy’ in the name if I really want to promote it, but I won’t be suggesting people come over unless someone asks me about it.
I’ve been blocking these users.
Goodbye Gork.
In theory at least they are motivated to retain listeners.
Don’t see mention of Invidious in here so may as well share.
Like piped - front end for youtube. No ads.
radio tries retain listeners and spotify free tries to annoy listeners
I’m an IT worker so ya I have a bunch of junk and I’ve seen a lot of ports
I probably will do that tbh. Youtube is like reddit to me - I’m addicted and I’d take the opportunity to quit.
Someone breaks into your house and steals something from you. This person is also selling bananas at the supermarket. Am I morally required to pay for those bananas when I shop at that store?
Your argument makes the most sense to me only if it’s limited to basic exchange of goods, but Google doesn’t exist in a vacuum and mega-corporations should be everyone’s shit list.
I say usually but it’s basically the rule. Of all my things only the QNAP NAS has a slim side down port, and maybe that’s some other convention I’m not aware of since it’s for the copy-data port. That’s among a random pile consisting of a Cisco networking equipment, Intel NUC, old macbook, new microsoft and HP laptops, a hdmi/usb switch, ps4, and a raspberry pi
The logo isn’t that reliable but it’s usually slim side up. Not sure about sideways ports though.
It’s getting worse in more ways than one, I wouldn’t argue against that. But getting banned isn’t something I’ve come across. Posts removed or zero engagement on comments? Yes, all the time.
I feel like the way to get banned from /parenting is to bring up anti-natalism or childfree.
