tbf Samsung has a decent-ish ecosystem as well…
as long as all your devices are Samsung ones
there’s stuff like automatic earbud switching, dragging files between devices, “continue work on other device”, Samsung seamless codec for audio etc
yes, but most games aren’t.
there’s no reason to avoid good indie games just because they’re not foss, unless you’re a toxic fossbro or something
most games are not foss, and it makes sense.
(games are more like works of art ranter than software after all, so it just doesn’t matter)
copyright will eventually expire after your death
and cc nc does not prevent derivatives, just profiting off of them without explicit permission, which is not that big of a deal
the author can still sell the work, the NC prevents other people from profiting off of it without explicit permission (this does not prevent exemptions, work can still be sold under cc-by-sa as an exemption)
or CC BY-NC-SA (the non-commercial-use-only one)
i mean you can just buy a Dell laptop with a copy of Ubuntu preloaded instead, they sell those as an option with most models
i mean it’s annoying but how is it disgusting?
it just shows recently opened files/software mixed in with stuff you open frequently, it’s not an ad section or anything.
but yeah i have disabled it on all my machines, because I’m not using it + disabling it adds two extra rows of pinned apps…
I’m literally scared of disassembling stuff over like plastic clips while people just feel ok with ramming stuff in like that wha
idk my optical sensor works really well, it only fails if i place my finger at a weird angle, but ultrasonic’s not going to fix that either
it’s currently opt-in rather than opt-out, fully on-device and won’t work on devices with weak NPUs (or on any which completely lack it)
unless it changes in the future it’s not that bad at the moment tbh
try Poweramp, it’s paid but it costs like 10 cents and comes with a 3 day trial (no subscriptions or other bs)
definitely the most feature packed player with no competition
the only reason I’m still using Privacy Badger is the feature that hides embeeded iframe widgets until a “view” button is clicked (for example, embeeded tweets etc)
tbh i think “master” terminology is only bad if paired with “slave”. the word itself kinda just lost it’s original meaning
but I don’t really care about git’s change. im only using master out of habit
interacting with a pump sounds kinda awkward tho, i totally see why some people would prefer some sort of remote control, e.g. an app
well I’m using lower-ish-level stuff like wgpu a lot, so there’s a lot of repeated code in my codebase with only small variations, but I can’t really encapsulate it into anything since all of my pipelines are completely different and have different requirements (it’s basically already as encapsulated as it gets without limiting freedom)
sms is essentialy just a confirmation code delivery protocol tho? (like i have around 100 “chats” with just confirmation codes in them and ZERO conversations…) and i don’t see anyone using rcs mostly because of EXTREMELY poor reputation of sms messaging…
