OP doesn’t know shit about arictechture OR history.

Early on in Italy they did finish buildings but due to the gravity situation and the soil there they would tilt over. Using the protractor (invented by da Vinci, an ITALIAN) they started calculating which part of the buildings to leave off so they would stay level.

Sorry you missed that day in middle school chump.

Thank you for taking the time to explain what should have been quite obvious to OP.

This is one of the best wrong but plausible sounding explanations I’ve ever seen! Well done to you, Sir/Ma’am/other! 👏👏👏

We don’t have middle school here in Denmark. That’s probably why I was never taught about this.

Well I did just read an article yesterday where some European billionaire was complaining that Europeans don’t have the “ambition” that Americans do, so they waste their lives by working fewer hours and spending time in social situations.

Clearly, the Italian builders guild only allows for a two hour work week, so no jobs ever get completed.

You see, back in the day, lifespans were so short that most builders died before the building got finished. Only recently, when lifespans have became longer, people have started to live long enough to finish building their buildings before dying.

If they’re always under construction, you don’t have to pay property taxes

Real reason is you get a tax break on expenses on construction projects, so if you never finish your house your can claim back sales tax on groceries and utilities.

We’ll see how the White House looks after its first millennium and an earth quake. My guess is bulldozed and there’d be a few office buildings and a condominium instead.
