I sent in two phones for an offered $1600 total promotional bill credits.
One phone rejected, for the reason: “won’t power on”. I videoed myself opening the box on the returned phone, pressing the power button, and turning the phone on, booting into Pixel setup.
The other, Spectrum is trying to give me $200 credit for.
I spent hours on the phone with support from both of these scam companies. Do not deal with either of them, you have been warned.
Spectrum have the monopoly on internet service in my town. I won’t be engaging with them for anything else.
I’d probably take them to small claims court. It’s the only option you have at this point and they are counting on you not doing it. Or maybe you can find a lawyer with too much time on their hands that wants to take up a class action lawsuit.
The other day I got an email from spectrum
(1) change to your status
The email was an ad for their TV select service. They are scummy on every level. I had them come to fix my internet like 8 times since I get lagged out of online games hourly and sometimes every 10 minutes. I even had one say everything is fine, if I call again they’d charge me.
Absolutely can’t wait till a fiber company supports my home.
I hate this company. I jumped ship to use somebody else and avoid giving them my money as soon as I had another viable option.
My only issue with Spectrum Mobile is they recently raised my 1 GB monthly call AND data plan (which all but two months in the last 6 years i’ve gone over for an extra $15 a pop) from $14 to 19 dollars.
I bought and paid off a Galaxy S10 6 years ago. I’m golden.
I think of all the extra thousands of dollars I spent over the years having Verizon phones and service, feel like I won the lottery.
So you’re paying $19 for 1GB and unlimited text/voice, plus another $15 most months for overages?
You can get 2GB with unlimited text/voice for $10/mo or $96/yr ($8/mo paid upfront) through US Mobile. You get your choice of Verizon, T-Mobile, or I believe they’re adding AT&T very soon. You can add a rollable GB for $2 a pop, but I’m not 100% sure you can if you pay up front for a year of the $8/mo price.
They also have a 10GB and unlimited plans for less than you’re paying, if I’m understanding your statements correctly.
In six years I’ve one gone over the 1GB data plan, on two occasions, costing $15 each time for a total of $30. I’m perfectly happy with my Spectrum Mobile service.
