Someone knocking on the bathroom door:
Everything alright in there??
You forgot the sound of a Sunchips bag. My not even conceived children are going to be deaf because I opened one back in the 90s.
Didn’t they change the bag material recently to be quieter? I vaguely remember seeing something about that in the news.
Yeah they stopped using the more environmentally friendly bags and switched back to what they used before thanks to people complaining so much.
I thought it was because someone tested that bag and found out it wasn’t biodegradable?
SunChips sales dropped 11% due to the bag: https://www.packagingdigest.com/smart-packaging/frito-lay-withdraws-noisy-compostable-sunchips-bag
I doubt they would really care of the bag is actually compostable or not, that’s not the point. More sales is. If the biodegradable bag was not degradable but still increased sales I bet they would have kept it.
Should be listed as 9001. That way IT’S OVER 9000!!!
Take me back…
Shampoo bottle falling in the shower while your toddler is trying to sleep directly on the other side of the wall. Might as well be an earthquake.
I’m generally great at traversing my house quietly, unless my fiance or child are asleep, and then I’m a fucking cave beast making as much noise as humanly possible, seemingly.
Accidentally slamming the toilet lid shut in the middle of the night
Lemme raise you a challenger: microwave beeping at 3am.
There’s a way to turn off the beep entirely on most microwaves. I don’t remember which button it is and I’m not going to look it up right now.
I turned it off on my microwave and one of my roommates promptly turned it back on. D:
There’s a way to turn off the beep entirely on most microwaves.
O.M.G. You have forever changed my life.
Monster D:
They are still Lound when they are microwaving
Scrolling through this meme was weirdly timed, because the shampoo bottle I left too near to the edge just fell off in my bathroom.
I hate decibels. Such needless confusion over whether they’re an absolute or relative scale, what the reference volume is, what the underlying SI units are. Are these all measured at a uniform distance? Why would you take a shower at the library?
Here is an alternative Piped link(s):

I imagine the measurement is something like “perception of sound to the human ear”. A rock concert is generally very loud and whether you’re 5 feet back or 30 feet back from the stage won’t make a huge difference
A rock concert emanating from a point will sound considerably louder at 5 feet vs 30 feet and will make just as much of a difference as 50 feet vs 300.
Of course, accoustics in a concert hall are designed to minimize this difference. Doesn’t explain jet fighters though.
Are you rustling a single leaf, for it to be less than a library?
Or does the library have a windy exterior full of trees with rustling leaves, for it to be at 40?Unmuted Porn from a crackly laptop speaker
Never thought about that, it really does sound like a disaster just happened
My old wooden stairs as I try to sneak above in the middle of the night.
Worse, a metal tray that falls out of the refrigerator at 3 in the morning.
And this gives you a scale on which you can’t even compare opening a plastic bottle of water in the night
9000 decibels would rip the fabric of the Earth apart, the loudest sound ever reported was 172 dB.
So, this meme is accurate.
