Exactly. Canada should just choose to ignore it. Just like the US is ignoring international deals they’ve signed with other countries. Thing is: Canada has honour and our actual signature means something when we sign agreements. I don’t think Canada will sink as low as the US.

We need to pull out of this deal, the last thing Canada needs is to buy weapons from the country that has designs to annex us. And that sells weapons with kill switches.

Oh would you look at that: mini-maga PP promotes deregulation as a “solution” to the problems caused by Trunp tariffs and the US trade war, imitating the exact policies and playbook of the US. Fuck off PP. Fuck off Trump.

It’s gonna be lifelong for me, even if Trunp himself is gone, the deranged ideology remains. There will eventually be a successor. All the more reason for Canada to decouple, disengage and diversify away from the US, cause at any time a new one could come in and maybe they aren’t as dumb as Trump.

True. Carney is defintely not above criticism. But PP would be devastating for Canada.

He came from nothing, born in the Northwest Territories, was smart, got scholarships to go to Harvard/Oxford. Got increasingly more senior jobs in his field, including Bank of Canada Governor during the 2008 banking crisis in Canada which came out largely unscathed, as a consequence - he was hired as the first non-British Bank of England Governor, and while he disagreed with Brexit in principle, he insulated the UK from the worst of that. He’s an economist with experience in dealing with two country-wide crises, which is exactly what Canada is going through right now - an economic crisis, not of our choosing. I’d much prefer that to PP who’s prior job experience is being a Telus collections agent, been in govt for 25 years and had never passed a bill. PP is nothing but a one-note grievance whiner.

PP has not passed a single bill in 25 years in parliament. He’s never had a job outside of being an attack dog for Harper. He has no policies and no experience.
